Naarm Melbourne’s western suburbs are home to one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing Vietnamese communities. Yet, many children are losing the opportunity to learn Vietnamese language, culture, and heritage in a structured, high-quality educational setting.
We are launching a campaign to establish a Vietnamese bilingual primary school program that empowers children to thrive academically, stay connected to their roots, and grow as confident global citizens.
Research shows that bilingual education strengthens cognitive development, academic achievement, and cultural identity.
A Vietnamese bilingual program will:
● Enhance academic outcomes through dual-language instruction
● Preserve language and cultural heritage for future generations
● Support community cohesion and intergenerational connection
● Prepare students for a globalised world with multilingual skills
For many families, a bilingual program represents more than language learning – it is about identity, belonging, and opportunity.

● Develop a pilot Vietnamese–English bilingual primary school program in Naarm Melbourne’s west
● Partner with local schools, educators, and community organisations
● Help recruit skilled bilingual teachers
