Help us build a Vietnamese bilingual primary school in Naarm Melbourne’s west!
Naarm Melbourne’s western suburbs are home to one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing Vietnamese communities. Yet, many children are losing the opportunity to learn Vietnamese language, culture, and heritage in a structured, high-quality educational setting.
We are launching a campaign to establish a Vietnamese bilingual primary school program that empowers children to thrive academically, stay connected to their roots, and grow as confident global citizens.
Why a bilingual program matters
Research shows that bilingual education strengthens cognitive development, academic achievement, and cultural identity.
A Vietnamese bilingual program will:
● Enhance academic outcomes through dual-language instruction ● Preserve language and cultural heritage for future generations ● Support community cohesion and intergenerational connection ● Prepare students for a globalised world with multilingual skills
For many families, a bilingual program represents more than language learning – it is about identity, belonging, and opportunity.
